August 4, 2015Evolution Global Talent Attraction’s latest market research report looks at the capacity and content of biopharmaceutical production in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Rather than publish a lengthy report, we have compiled a one-page infographic to highlight regional trends, production focus and the clinical trial pipeline.
We analysed 265 sites in 35 different countries across the EMEA region and identified the leading players in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Of the 265 facilities analysed, 62% are focused on the development of their own products, whilst 31% function as CMOs for larger pharmaceutical companies. In total, all 265 sites have a maximum production scale of 2,364,900L, with a mean site scale of 8,924L.
Biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities are overwhelmingly located in Europe, with only 17 sites in the Middle East and 9 in Africa. Germany is the country with the highest number of sites, with a total of 55 facilities, but their overall production scale is less than that of the combined total of the 18 sites in Ireland and the UK.
