We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a VP of Global Engineering role with a global biotechnology company specialising in antibodies and related products. This is a permanent position that will preferably be based out of the United Kingdom.
PURPOSE
The Vice President of Global Engineering is responsible for leading engineering across the business. This is a key enterprise-wide deployment leadership position, reporting directly to the company’s SVP Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain. The VP of Global Engineering is responsible for setting and implementing the vision for the facilities, maintenance, automation, health and safety for the Company world-wide. This position requires an experienced engineer leader that is poised to develop and execute facilities and infrastructure investment strategies and is able to facilitate and implement change in a fast paced environment. Key to success in this position is the ability to work within and across the organization and external provider network at all levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and set strategic direction for facilities, maintenance, automation, health and safety across the Company’s facility network
- In partnership with key functions, determine the key facilities, development and manufacturing needs
- Develop culture and skill-building in facilities, engineering, automation, health and safety across the business
- Define key performance metrics, analyze root cause, and develop targeted process improvement opportunities
- Lead cross-functional teams to successfully implement endorsed facilities and infrastructure improvement programs within budgets and timelines
- Lead to provide sustained improvement of business processes
- Develop and implement an innovative automation and manufacturing investment strategy and technology roadmap
- Identify, select and manage outsourced partners to execute plans and on-going operational maintenance
- Manage budgets and assure program delivery across a broad spectrum of complex program initiatives
- Provide support for global operations to assure appropriate facilities and maintained activities are in place
- Support key root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Develop robust processes for facility and infrastructure risk management
- Proved for business continuity and emergency response planning
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 10+ years’ experience in life science engineering leadership
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex engineering and automation solutions
- Ability to travel 25%
