We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an Immunology Project Management role with a global biotechnology company specialising in antibodies and related products. This is a permanent position that will be based out of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
PURPOSE
This role combines both science and project management. Our Client is looking to recruit a scientist specialised in immunology to help actively support company initiatives, ideally with some project management training and experience. Using their knowledge and experience of immunology, the Project Manager will oversee new product development (NPD) and up-validation of existing products across global sites. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the immuno-oncology (IO) portfolio consists of high quality specific products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for project management of a large scale up-validation project to ensure products meet a high standard of quality and meet customer requirements.
- Interact with cross functional groups in a productive, collaborative manner.
- Ensure project plans are established with input from key stakeholders and provide regular project status and metrics updates.
- Influence project members to ensure timely delivery of the project deliverables.
- Maintain an up-to-date project plan continuously checking project deliverables against the business case.
- Chair regular project meetings and provide minutes to key stakeholders.
- Maintain an accurate record of project budgets.
- Provide expertise in immunology within the New Product Development (NPD) function and across the company. Understanding the needs of immuno-oncology researchers and how we can help them reach their goal.
- Responsible for managing the IO NPD pipeline from initial target selection to final catalog product.
- Responsible for up-validation of IO products to ensure they meet a high standard of quality and meet customer requirements.
- Build working relationships with both the research area team in marketing and our pipeline teams based in Cambridge, China and the US.
- Interact with cross functional groups in a productive, collaborative manner.
- Work with the marketing research area teams to guide and maintain the immunology portfolio long term plan. Understanding the needs of immunology researchers and how we can help them reach their goal.
EDUCATION, SKILL & EXPERIENCE
- PhD in immunology or equivalent experience
- Knowledgeable on current immunology techniques and have a good understanding on the needs of researchers working in this field
- Formal project management qualification (such as Prince 2) would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Experience of managing different types of projects with significant project management experience
- Experienced in using antibody reagents and a strong scientific understanding of processes involved in their development, including monoclonal and polyclonal reagents
- Understanding of antibody validation techniques such as WB, IHC, ICC, flow is essential
- Highly organised, be comfortable working to deadlines, prioritising different projects and have outstanding attention to detail
