We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Head of Business Development role with a leading global contract research and development organization. This is a permanent position that will be based remotely out of the East Coast United States.
PURPOSE
The US Head of Business Development will report directly to the Global Head of Business Development. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for generating new leads, closing sales and hitting sales targets in the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead generation
- Proposals, working with scientific team
- Negotiation and closure of deals
- Hitting sales targets
- Key customer development
- Marketing and attending conferences
- Own and drive the entire business development cycle, from the identification of initial opportunities, through the development of specific proposals, to delivery of a signed contract
- Quickly develop strong and mutually supportive relationships with internal colleagues (e.g. science, finance, project management)
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in Biology, Chemistry or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a business development role
- You will be able to work from home and travel to attend conferences and visit customers
- A coherent understanding of the drug development process
- A current, fluent knowledge of the marketplace, clients and competitors
- An established network of clients and industry contacts
