We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a EMEA Sales Management role with the Genomics division of a leading multinational biotechnology company. This is a permanent position that can be based out of anywhere in Western Europe.
PURPOSE
The Nucleic Acid Chemistry Sales Manager, EMEA is directly responsible for the effectiveness and performance against sales goals and objectives for the Europe and Middle East region for the Nucleic Acid Business Unit. In this role, the Nucleic Acid Chemistry Sales Manager will drive growth in sales of the Company’s portfolio across Europe and Middle East. This role will be responsible and required to employ company best practice sales tools such CRM, sales planning and pipeline management to achieve targets whilst operating within and upholding the Company’s values. Additionally this role will be expected to contribute in the development and refinement of company best practice sales discipline and routinely participate in cross functional reviews to improve company sales and operational performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a business plan to achieve set sales targets.
- Identify & develop new strategic partners to drive revenue growth.
- Achievement of Europe and Middle East territory sales budget.
- Leading the sales forecasting and customer demand processes, providing such feedback to Operations.
- Identify, develop and manage strategic and senior level relationships within key accounts.
- Manage the commercial relationship of strategic partners, such as distributors and OEM customers.
- Work with global clients to develop initiatives to integrate proprietary chemistries into their commercial products.
- Present capabilities to potential customers and strategic partners.
- Understand customers’ key goals and drive alignment of the Company to those goals.
- Identify, uncover and provide feedback on market and competitor information.
- Production of comprehensive account maps of decision makers and spend.
- Keep abreast of product and industry developments and market intelligence.
- Liaise closely with internal support staff to ensure accurate pricing and seamless product availability, communication and delivery to customers.
- Work closely with marketing leadership to ensure alignment of Marketing campaigns and collateral to customer needs, in tandem with implementing Sales campaigns.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing to coordinate strategic and tactical marketing activities and to support and represent the company at conferences and scientific meetings.
- Work closely with other Group leadership as required, including input to strategic planning & New Product Development reviews.
- Provide training and support to sales personnel, to maximise revenue and growth in all territories.
- Develop relationships and collaborate with all sales colleagues, both within the business unit and the wider Company, to maximise sales opportunities across Genomics.
- Provide performance reports and metrics at sales review meetings, identifying areas for improvement and planned actions, and share best practice/lessons learned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum BSc qualified in a relevant life sciences discipline; MSc or PhD desired but not required
- Demonstrable experience with nucleic acid chemistries, specifically oligonucleotides
- 5+ years experience in a relevant sales role
- Experience in dealing with distributors and negotiating deals
- Requires a strong understanding and application of strategic selling techniques
- Ability to quickly develop relationships and navigate customers’ organizational structures and decision-making processes
- Ability to assess and define points of value and differentiation in the Company’s offering and to communicate efficiently and effectively to win client business
- Strong knowledge of the broader Genomics market, technology & IP landscape
